Angela's world changed when a tall, dark, and handsome, African American man spoke to her. He intrigued her and she was hesitant. She had to explore the chance as he was nothing like anyone of her past. Angela's Caucasian circle wasn't openly accepting. Her best friend of many years disliked the new interest and pushed her to stay with people of her complexion. Angela faced a battle of desire and intrigue, and forced the issue of acceptance by dating three likely candidates. Her journey to self discovery ended at the cross roads for true love or social acceptance. (from Amazon)

The Kat Trap by Cairo
I've always thought that if I have to die, I would definitely like to go out while having mad-crazy, hot, buck naked, wild, 2012 sex. After reading this book... not so much. Katrina is an assassin who is exceptionally good at her job. How she goes about her solo blood shedding is the pulse behind this story. How does she kill her marks? Couple of hints: 1: I alluded to it in my first sentence, and 2: the title. This book is 100% pure street. It's as ghetto as drinking red Kool-Aid in Harlem during the summer wearing flip-flops, a do-rag, and chillin' beside a busted fire hydrant! From the surroundings, to the atmosphere, to the language. The language... man! The language was so raw you could see the blood dripping from it, and so real you could taste the truth. The sex was blistering and the drama was plenty.

I will be frank and say that I WAS split as I was reading this book. When Kat was on her grind, getting her back twisted, and racking up bodies, I could not stop reading. When she talked about her life, her girls, and her moms, I wasn't feeling it at all. Not in a bad way per say, but I wanted to hear more about Kat on her grind and less about her double standard justifications.

All in all this was a sexually charged drama filled book that should keep your attention till the end. I do hope book #2 (I'm assuming there will be a #2) will give us more action from Kat and more from that fool Cash.(review by Jason Frost "RubiconReader")

Floss by Monica Marie Jones

In the world we live in people are divided into three main social classes...the upper class, the middle class and the lower class. In Detroit and other cities like it, a fourth social class has emerged in the minds of those who occupy it. Unlike the other classes, the fourth is more of an active state of being. It is a verb. People in this class act out and represent what it means. The fourth class is called FLOSS.

Friends since childhood, Abel, Solomon, and Jabez strive to climb the social ladder. Cousins Dionysus and Torah strive to climb that same ladder, but they would much rather travel on the backs of men like Abel, Solomon and Jabez. Tyse wants to climb that ladder as well in the company of men like Abel, Solomon and Jabez while attracting women like Torah and Dionysus.

When the worlds of these six socialites collide and become intertwined the outcome is scandalous. Will the controversies that they encounter be worth the cost that it takes to FLOSS? (from Amazon)

  1. I'm reading My Mother Killed Christ: But God Loves Me Anyway. It's the powerful memoir of a 1960s Catholic school girl whose mentally ill mother believed she killed Jesus. You will cry, then laugh, then cry again. It is available on Amazon.com, but will not appear on Kindle until next week.
