REVIEW: Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning

Oh feck, where do I start. This is the 4th in a series of 5 books. Mac really gets tough in this book and goes through a lot, but it makes her stronger. I had so many parts of this book marked to do my review, but I don't want to give any part of it away. It was hard to put this book down, especially towards the end! I can't wait to read book 5 to find out what Barrons is, and who the IYD is. The end really leaves you hanging and wishing that the next book was out there on the shelf just waiting to be read!

Please avoid spoilers!

"Tit for tat." His gaze dropped to my breasts, and I had a sudden, much-too-detailed memory of yanking my shirt up while he'd watched them pop out, jiggling. "Or would that be tit for tit?"

Faefever by Karen Marie Moning

Mac is still living in the bookstore and fixes it up and makes it her own. She is still trying to figure out what Barrons is, and also forms an alliance with V'Lane who is a death-by-sex fae. Everyone is in search of the Sinsar Dubh. The city of Dublin goes into chaos on Halloween and the ending really makes me wonder what is going to happen in the next book.

Here is a hot quote from the book on page 75:

"His tongue touched mine. Something Hot and electric jolted through my mouth, and pierced my tongue. It swelled inside me, filling my mouth. I choked on it, and orgasmed instantly, as hot and electrifying as whatever he'd just done to my tongue. Pleasure ripped through me with such exquisite precision that my bones steamed and turned to water. I would have collapsed, but he took my weight, and I was in a dreamy, surreal place for a few moments, where his laughter was black velvet and his need was as vast as the night, then I was clear and me again."

This is a great series, and I can't wait to start on the 4th book today!

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

This is a great series. I read this second book quicker than the 1st. Mac is one tough girl and Barrons is still very mysterious. Can't wait to read #3!

"I'd found my calling. Instead of serving drinks and watching people turn into drunken idiots, I was being paid to give people wonderful stories to escape into, full of mystery, mayhem, and romance. Instead of splashing anesthetizing alcohol into glasses, I was pouring fictional tonics to alleviate the stress, hardship, and drudgery of their lives."

What I read this week

Morgan's grades are dropping at school and her parents are threatening with Catholic school. Morgan lit a candle towards the end, and in the flame saw an image of what may be in the future, and she was afraid.

I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had to start reading this next book because I got books 1-4 and #4 is due back to the library 11/21 and can't be renewed, so I had to put the Sweep books on hold.
Darkfever

Mac's sister was murdered in Dublin and she went there to track down her killer. Mac finds out that she has some special powers, and is in search of the Sinsar Dubh

This was a pretty good book, but hopefully the next one is a little steamier!

REVIEW OF: HOW TO CATCH AND KEEP A VAMPIRE by DIANA LAURENCE

How to Catch and Keep a Vampire: A Step-By-Step Guide to Loving the Bad and the Beautiful

When the book "Twilight" came out, I was not interested. I thought I would not like books about vampires. Well, I decided to read it just to see what it was all about, and I got hooked and read all the books. Now I have been reading several different kinds of vampire books. I can tell you that there is just something about vampires that I am just hooked on. Now I know from this book on how to catch a vampire that there is a name for what I am, it's a "vampriophile".

What is it that attracts women to vampires. Well, for one thing, it's the fact that vampires are so irresistible because they are never sick or get the flu, and if they want to talk about something that you wouldn't be interested in, they can just hypnotize you into being into whatever they are talking about. Here is a quote from page 18 "Now, your mortal boyfriend is certainly not going to consider grabbing you by the shoulders, pressing you into a wall, and demanding you to yield something precious, like your lifeblood, to him. Heck, nowadays he's afraid to open a door for you!. A vampire, on the other hand, doesn't give a rat's tush what is politically correct or acceptable." Vampires are unpredictable, dangerous, arrogant, and threatening and we like that.

Also, women always feel like we always have to behave like a lady and always be nice whether we feel like it or not. From page 52: "That stuff builds up after awhile, and we pretend it's not even there, until finally we are what vampires call -- and I'm not making this up -- "ready for nasty". We are ready for a bad vampire, but not an evil one. You will learn about the different types of vampires after you read this book. Maybe that is what draws me to vampires so much is the fact that they are so hot and in control.

There is a secret to wearing the red satin ribbon, but I will let you read the book to find out what that is all about.

If you think about converting to a vampire, you need to read Chapter 9. It has perks, such as not paying life insurance, being sexy and beautiful. The downfall is that once you are a vampire, that's all you will ever be.

Also you will learn more about what it's like if you decide to convert to a vampire.

After reading this book, I truly felt like the author had been with vampires, and this book was kind of like a "vampires for dummies" book.

I gave it 5 stars out of 5!

MY REVIEW

Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2)

Living Dead in Dallas

This is another great Sookie Stackhouse book. Sookie is off on her own (well--without Bill right by her side) a lot in this book trying to search for a missing vampire. I think Bill needs to step it up a little bit. Not too much romance in this book. I mean there is some, but the scenes lack detail and aren't very steamy. I mean Bill is a great guy, but I think he better watch out for Eric! Eric is quite charming and quite the comedian in this book. Can't wait to read the next one and see what happens!
